Sun Country and Jake Yockers

So, anyone besides me afraid that Mr. Yockers is going to get in trouble for what he's done for us today?

What he's done is just "not done" amongst airline pilots.

It's like the mob ratting out someone else....

Or one of the Smurfs turning to the dark side....

I'm so tired.

I hear that his company backed up his decision today. Thank you Sun Country.

But just in case the FAA or whomever polices these things tries to come down on him, will you help me get the word out?

Mr. Yockers should not be reprimanded or suspended or even yelled at.

He should be praised, thanked and kissed by all these families that wouldn't have our babies home without him.

He should be used as an example of doing the right thing at the right time for the right reason.

It should be used as when to stand for something - even if standing for something causes international flight patterns to be disrupted somehow for the day.

Please - don't hurt Mr. Yockers.

He saved these kids. He saved us.

I will stand behind him and back up that decision any day of the week! He deserves a million hugs and thank-you's. Because of him many tears of joy have been shed today. And there are a lot less scared children, and parents tonight. --Jenny Barney

Oh my goodness if this pilot gets in trouble then I'm going to be %&#@$! If he gets in trouble for the heroic act he did today then it make me wonder about people morals, ethics, and about the ablity for people to recognize an ANGEL when they see one! These are human lives he saved today that is no different than pulling people out from under the rumble. And certinly he wouldn't get in trouble for rescuing someone. Right FAA???

Done. He should be praised and rewarded. We will provide a homemade 'medal of honor' if given the chance!

If we need to..is there an email or phone number to call or write and support our hero? Would media attention help?

I'm sure I am one of many that would personally like to meet Jake Yockers and express my deepest gratidute to him for the stand that he took against rules and requlations I'm sure he was in violation of. This man is a hero. This man is an angel among men. He will never know the depth of graditude from all the people he has touched. This man is an angel among us and will forever be loved in the hearts and minds of all the children, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. of all the families that after much trama and distress have their babies home. He has forever made an impact in our lifes. You, Mr Yockers, are a hero in every sense of the word. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for what you have done for my family and the families of all the children whose lifes you have changed with your actions today. We love you!! Lori, if it becomes necessary, PLEASE pass the word... My kids are more than willing to make posters and we'll start a protest, complete with picket lines. This man is a HERO in every sense of the word.

I have to comment--- I am a friend of Becky and Mike. I have been following your blog since she wrote about you, but I have never been able to have the right words to say. What you are going through is a mothers worse nightmare. You are amazing people! I have to say I have read every post since Becky let me on to your situation. I am praying for you all--- I am praying for Jess and her father. And I really want to be like Jake Yonkers. What a great example--- what a great person.

I'll join in. To me this guy is as big of a hero as that pilot Sully Sullenberger. He should be treated like a hero and nothing else.

There are very few people today that will put morals and the lives of others above the "Rules and regulations" Mr Yonkers did something today that showed what being a human is all about. Caring, love and compassion. This man took a stand where most (Especially in the economic crisis we are in) would have just said okay and done what they were told to do. I don't believe he understands the depth of what he has done and what it has meant not only to the people here but the one's left behind to try to pick up the pieces. I would be deeply saddened and angered to find out that he was handled with anything less then the respect he has justly earned. Brent and Lori, your devotion to these kids and their families can never be measured. You have given so much of yourselves for this cause. I know you both have the love and support of your families, which helps. Please let me know what I can do to assist.

I hope the law wont be a stickler and that they will understand that he made a decision to save lives. Isn't this what we should do as human beings?
