Hope For Little Angels of Haiti

I added a link on the side bar to Haitian Roots and to Wasatch International. I should have done that a long time ago.

Haitian Roots is the charity that our agency supports. They help Haitian children go to school. The best way to help Haiti's kids break the cycle their country has is to educate them and give them the skills they need to do better things. If you're interersted in helping, you can donate through their website.

Wasatch International is our adoption agency. We've been so impressed by the wonderful staff there and we really appreciate the time they take away from their own families to help the adoptive parents get to Haiti to visit their children.

They have programs in many countries and recently started doing domestic programs as well. They can also take donations for the orphanages they work with.

Hope For Little Angels of Haiti is the name of our orphanage. Nadia is the woman who owns the orphanage (orphanages are privately run in Haiti - no government programs). She does a great job. They recently moved to a new building (it's basically a house - and a nice one at that) so they have more space for the 45+ kids there. Most of the children there already have adoptive families and are just waiting for the governments to process the paperwork. (She works with France a lot).

This picture shows Nadia (in the turquiose shirt) and some of the staff and drivers that helped us get around and get all our luggage (stuffed with donations) from the airport to the hotel to the orphanage.

We had a visit with Scott and Anne Shumway this evening. Wasatch International is who they worked with to adopt Abby...they have good things to say about them.
