Thank you for posting this. I was just reading an article about another family with a son carrying the same genetic defect. It is a touching reminder of how precious life is, and how quickly it can pass.
I've realized that it is really all about perspective. Do we look and say how horrible it is that these poor parents were "cursed" with a terminally ill child, or how "blessed" they were to know such a sweet spirit? Do we look at our own lives and wonder about our trials or do we look and see all of our blessings?
You've reminded me that I need to have the appropriate perspective about my own life.
