BYU Women's Conference

I spoke at BYU Women's Conference today.  It was quite an adventure.  One of those experiences where you have 4 months to "prepare" (which means stress, second guess yourself and wonder if they know that they're doing by asking you).

Several weeks ago, I told Nathan I was 'worried about this big talk I had coming up where I had to speak to a lot of people".  He reached out, rubbed my arm and said, "Mama, if you're nervous, you can just talk to me..."

So today, I told him I'd finished it and he explained, "See, Mama!  I told you it wasn't that bad!"

I think it went well and I'm grateful I had the opportunity.  Once in a lifetime for sure.

And, to make up for not posting for weeks and weeks, here's a video of Sophia telling the gripping story of Goodnight, Gorilla.

Yes, my kids are THAT cute.

Thank you so much for your talk today! Sometimes you don't know what's wrong and you know you need answers and feel a prompting and there you are. Thank you for being a conduit to me from Heavenly Father with everything I could have hoped for. I could go home fulfilled now. Thank you!

Dear Lori

Absolutely the best hour I spent at Women's Conference. You mentioned that it might be possible to get a copy of your talk. If possible, please send it to me at razdavis@gmail.com Your comments were inspiring and would be helpful for me and a beloved daughter. Thanks

Have loved your blog forever and can't believe I didn't see it was you speaking at WC. My two sisters who went said your message transformed them. They talked all the way back about what they learned. I too would love a copy of your talk. Women everywhere need the message about measuring our value with the right yardstick. And to know that our bodies are a custom built teaching tool for our souls, not the outward manifestation of our inadequacies. Thank you and please share a copy if you can. My sister just kept saying, "she said it better, you should have been there!"

Please know you made a difference.

Hi Lori,
Your talk at Women's Conference was life changing for me. I would have flown to Utah just to hear you speak and I hope you will have other opportunities such as this one to influence many, many people in and out of the church. I have been on a journey...much like the one you described in your talk and although it's been quite the ride, I'm a different person looking through a new set of eyes. I'm looking forward to the time when I'm at the other end of it...much like where you may be now. It is my dream. I would love to get a copy of your talk. Please send me a copy to gustaju@hotmail.com.

Looking forward to reading your words of wisdom again!!!
Julie

Lori,
I didn't get to see you because I was in the overflow, but it would have been worth the flight from NC just to hear you. Your talk was life-changing and profound. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the prayers, preparation, and second-guessing (with a wee angst mixed in I'm sure). It's no small thing to have the faith to agree to speak at an event like is and I hope you feel like you delivered the message the Lord wanted you to. I certainly believe you did. My girlfriends and I couldn't keep up with the notes we were furiously taking while you were speaking lol! To get a copy of your talk would be like Christmas! And now I love you even more because you adopted your littles like I have :) Thank you my dear for uplifting and inspiring me! Kristen- kdcreech@gmail.com

I am excited to find your blog so I can tell you how much I enjoyed your talk! It was wonderful and powerful. Full of many truths that we as women forget- so thank you. If you are emailing copies of your talk, I would love a copy too. pjthomas2000@yahoo. com

Hi Lori, I was just transcribing my notes from your talk at Women's Conference and re-experiencing some of the hope that I felt that day. Having gone through many of the same things in my life, I have often felt less than adequate. I needed to hear that I have been standing in my own way. I would love to share your words with my sister, who needs them as much as I do. My email is scrapnquilt@sbcglobal.net and I would be grateful if you cared to share your talk. Thank you for everything you went through that enabled you to touch so many lives.
